Introduction 👋

At JAMHacks, we encourage student collaboration and learning. Our mission is to make it possible for anyone to achieve their goals. We value each student's participation and want all attendees to have a positive and fulfilling experience. As a result, all attendees are expected to treat each other with respect and courtesy throughout the hackathon. All hackathon participants must follow this Code of Conduct in order to understand what is expected of them. This code will be enforced by the organizers throughout the event.

Expected Behaviour

Plagiarism or the use of Re-Work 📑

We encourage you to submit projects that you have only worked on during the hackathon. If you decide to submit projects that contain re-used code, or if you decide to re-submit a project that you have previously submitted to another hackathon, you must forfeit and adhere to the organizer's judgement.

If the organizer discovers that the project has re-used code or has been worked prior to the event, the participant may be asked to compare and contrast the old and new work, or the submission may be automatically disqualified from winning awards.

Prohibited Behavior/Consequences 🙅🏻‍♂️

Any sort of behaviour that would be unacceptable at school or the workplace will not be tolerated at JAMHacks and action will be taken depending on the severity of the situation.

Unacceptable behaviour from any community member will not be tolerated, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority. Anyone who is asked to stop engaging in unacceptable behaviour is expected to do so right away.

If a community member engages in unacceptable behaviour, the community organizers have the authority to take any action they see fit, including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community without warning.
